Do not share any abusable bugs and exploits. The game requires users to advance their characters by teaming up and traveling into instanced dungeons.ĭragon Nest is available on various servers, with each servers serving a particular region. It uses a non-targeting combat system ensuring that players have complete control over every single one of their character's movements. Most games get powercreep or other problems over a long time, but never have I seen a game so utterly ruined in one fell swoop.DragonNest is a free-to-play MMORPG developed by Eyedentity. Just because people complained about the grind doesn't mean that gutting the game was the answer. So many fun, interesting, and well designed boss fights and areas, even in the lower levels, were all ruined because they wanted to zipline everyone to the level cap. So all the content in Dragon Nest that I'd ever play, the journey to the level cap, had practically been removed. I don't know of any mmo where I enjoyed repeatedly running endgame content. I wasn't going to play through 50+ levels of easy peasy just to get to endgame content. After one-shotting a boss monster in the so-called "master" difficulty by using one of my weaker attacks, I quit. The nests I could enter had vanished and only the high level nests remained, so I couldn't test my skills against epic battles at my level. I came back to it after some time, and abyss mode had been removed for all the dungeons I could access. "You need to be level xyz to continue the main quest. It was a great game, but it was plagued by grind. There's a lot of other reasons that turn people off from Dragon Nest, but I believe it is universal (such as P2W, bad dev-player transparency, powercreep, grind, inventory problem, etc). ![]() (thankfully I also met a lot of great people who I am still friends with till today) The community of DN here makes me headdesk sometimes. As a SEA player that made me laugh because I think people don't know what's toxic, because the moment you step into SH on our server you are basically in meme-town. Gender lock also might contribute towards the list of disdain.Īlso, there's actually a review I've seen on YouTube where the reviewer were turned off by "Nexonian" players (acting entitled). When we talk about MMORPG, we think of games like RO or Maplestory, where their models are quite cute and stylised towards a cartoon/anime appeal. Where as in the East, we tend to be a bit more acceptable towards the opposite. IMO, when we talk about MMORPG, you think about WoW and your perception and your expectations go from there. They don't like anime-stylised character and lack of customisation, it doesn't feel 'adult' enough for them, when you compare to established franchise such as WoW. One of my theory is that Dragon Nest doesn't appeal to MMORPG players in the West. Unfortunately I've quit because the devs are idiots and I can't stand their business model. I'm from SEA, and the game is massively popular here. To date, of all the MMORPG I've played, I still think it's the best game in terms of combat and mechanics.
